A PROSTITUTE who brought down New York governor Eliot Spitzer is suing the founder of a series of risque videos for more than $US10 million ($A10.7m).

Ashley Alexandra Dupre filed a lawsuit in Miami Federal Court today which said she never gave Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis permission to use her name and likeness to advertise the video series.

Ms Dupre said she was 17 and not old enough to sign a contract when the videos were made in 2003.

Ms Dupre, now 22, was identified last month as a prostitute named "Kristen" who had been involved with Mr Spitzer.

Mr Spitzer was forced to resign as New York governor when the call girl scandal emerged.

But now he has been hit by further allegations about his sexual predilections, with federal investigators reportedly uncovering links to another prostitute.

According to reports in the New York Post, federal investigators have uncovered the identity of the second woman - who remains nameless.

She allegedly corroborated the testimony of Ms Dupre and told investigators Mr Spitzer was fond of using sex toys on himself and had a "penchant for props".
